BA admits problems with BAROL
BRITISH Airways has admitted there are problems with its new on-line agent booking system, but said the current financial climate makes fixing them a low priority.
British Airways Reservations On-Line – BAROL – is due to replace BA Link this week, but agents say passwords are failing, helpdesk staff are lacking and the booking process is lengthier than before.
Northampton-based Rainbow Flights owner Don Rainbow said: “The new system is the same as the public’s Internet booking system, which means we have to go back and forth, putting in different data to eventually find the lowest fare. Viewdata allowed us to bring up a range of fares and choose the cheapest.
“My password doesn’t work, I couldn’t find any e-mail address and when I rang up, no-one was in charge.”
A BA spokeswoman said: “We are aware that BAROL is set up like www.ba.com and we’re committed to changing that, but in the current climate we can’t give any dates.
“The trade extranet does have an e-mail address for travel agents.”
