American joins forces with AOL to offer loyalty programme


AMERICAN Airlines is teaming up with America Online to create a joint customer loyalty programme named AOL AAdvantage.



The frequent shopping scheme will allow AOL members to earn miles and redeem them for travel, merchandise and service, including AOL membership fees.



The partnership, which is due to be launched this spring, will run for at least three years.



AOL and American are planning a huge cross-marketing campaign to promote the deal, but refused to reveal how much they would be spending.
