Best Western signs up to lobbying association

Best Western, the largest hotel consortium in the UK, has joined the British Hospitality Association.

Some of the individual Best Western hotels were already members but BHA chief executive Bob Cotton said the organisation’s lobbying efforts will be greatly strengthened with the weight of the 370-strong consortium behind it.

Cola Holdings, owner of three London hotels, the Westbury, Harrington Hall and Kingsway has also joined.

“To have an established consortium join the association, as well as one of the newest London hotel groups, is a great vote of confidence in our work,” said Cotton. “The more hospitality businesses the association can represent, the more effective will its lobbying effort be,” he added.

Over 25,000 hotels are now represented by the BHA, which was designed to present an industry-wide consensus on key political issues.
