Travel Weekly asked four high-street travel agents for their views on current operator programmes and services. For this week’s review, we called agents in east London to get their views on dedicated programmes to Hawaii. See how Hawaiian Travel Centre, Hawaiian Dream, Page and Moy and Jetlife Holidays performed under the spotlight.

Brochure: Hawaii and South Pacific.

Description: 84-page brochure of tailor-made itineraries to six Hawaiian islands and resorts in the South Pacific which can be packaged as multi-centre. Includes weddings.

Reservations: 020 7304 5730.

Agents’ verdict: “Quite an attractive brochure but not one we are very familiar with. It is not a name we rack regularly or think of first for Hawaii.”

“Clients don’t ask for this and the only time we have used it is when they have requested a specific hotel and we have searched all brochures to find it.”

“We don’t get many brochures supplied from this company so inevitably we rarely use it or think of it for Hawaii.”

Brochure: The Hawaiian Dream.

Description: 36-page brochure of packaged holidays, multi-centre package and tailor-made options on six islands.

Reservations: 0208 470 1181.

Agents’ verdict: “An attractive brochure, with a sweet photo on the front which draws clients to it. Inside the copy is clearly laid out and there is plenty of information and very good descriptions. The layout is simple and clean – I feel the simpler a brochure can be the better it is for the client -Êclarity is important.”

“The layout is very straightforward which Ithink is much easier for people to follow. It even gives a specific child price, not just a percentage rate, which clients like a lot.”

Brochure: Hawaii plus West Coast USA and Las Vegas.

Description: 34-page brochure of tailor-made itineraries to five Hawaiian islands. Includes single or multi-centre, weddings and cruises.

Reservations: 0870 0106456

Agents’ verdict: “Not the most eye-catching front cover but it’s OK and inside it is well laid out with some excellent descriptions and lovely photography. Reservations usually answer quite quickly and are pretty

helpful, friendly and knowledgeable.”

“Clients know the name and do ask for this brochure for Hawaii. Feedback from those who go with them is always positive. Administration is efficient and we get plenty of brochures.”

Brochure: The Hawaiian Islands.

Description: 36-page brochure of packaged holidays with tailor-made options. Includes single and multi-centres and weddings.

Reservations: 01322 614801.

Agents’ verdict: “A bright brochure which is appealing. The beach on the front could be anywhere really but it looks like the kind of beach you’d want to go to.”

“Inside, the pages seem a bit samey and dark but thelayout is clear with plenty of information and some useful ideas about the things clients can do.”

“Gives some good basic holiday ideas but clients often want a tailor-made itinerary. Staff are friendly andhelpful although it is sometimes very hard to get through.”

“Clients don’t really know the company, it doesn’t have a very high profile but we know them well for the US and would certainly recommend them.”

“Feedback is good and quite a number of clients repeat book with them.”

“A middle-market range with plenty of choice and usually something to suit everyone.”
