Choice hotels to expand budget brand

CHOICE Hotels aims to expand its brand of roadside budget
properties in the UK.

Early last year Choice opened three prototype Sleep Inns in
Baldock, near Letchworth, Cambridge and Peterborough. The plan is to increase
this to 70 within three years.

“The first three have been very successful with mid-week
occupancy above 80% and overall occupancy in the high sixties,” said Choice Hotels
chief operating officer Peter Cashman.

Among the locations for Sleep Inns expected in 2002 are the
M1, north of Leeds, and south of Manchester.
