* California hopes Hotline will REINFORCE UK links
California has set up a travel trade hotline to strengthen its links with the UK. The state’s director of travel trade development Terry Selk said it wanted to restore confidence in the industry and pledged to continue aggressivelymarketing its product.
* Hurricane delays opening of sandals resort
All-inclusive giant Sandals has delayed until summer 2002 the opening of its new resort in Cuba. The property wassupposed to open in March next year, but the date was put back last week after Hurricane Michelle hit Cuba earlier this month, causing widespread damage across the island. The resort will have 404 suites, five speciality restaurants and the first treatment spa on Cuba.
