Ansett to cease flying

TROUBLED Australian airline Ansett is to cease flying later
today.

A proposed sale to a syndicate has fallen through.

The airline’s administrators are reported to be preparing to
sell the Ansett’s assets. These are understood to include 133 aircraft, 10
million spare parts, terminals and other buildings at its Melbourne
headquarters.

The company has been in administration since September last
year.
