KUONI has revealed sales totalling £381 million for 2001, up
from £369 million the previous year.
Profits, meanwhile, were up 4% to £37.1 million. Executive
chairman Peter Diethelm said the company had absorbed losses of £35 million in
sales and £5 million in profits following the September 11 terrorist attacks in
the US.
Managing director Sue Biggs said: “The real success story
during this challenging time were our staff. Thanks to superb teamwork and
enormous efforts, we were able to manage the cancellations and repatriation of
clients and still create new products to create additional sales.”
