MYTRAVEL
has sold its camping business Eurosites to Holidaybreak for £29.9 million.
The
sale, which will generate a profit of £11 million, will allow MyTravel to
invest in areas ‘more closely aligned with the Group’s core strategic
objectives’, according to chief executive Tim Byrne.
The
acquisition consists of the business and assets of Eurosites UK and businesses
in Holland, Germany and Denmark.
Holidaybreak
already operates Keycamp and Eurocamp brands – with Eurosites the only main
competitor.
Going
Places and Travelworld will provide racking and support to Keycamp and
Eurosites.
Eurosites
was created by MyTravel (then Airtours) in December 1989.
