KLM’s low cost airline Buzz has chosen Bournemouth Airport
as its second UK base behind Stansted.
The airline will launch services to a number of undisclosed
routes from Bournemouth from March, with seats on sale this autumn.
The carrier will de-merge from KLM UK as part of massive
expansion plans that will see a third UK base and a mainland Europe base
established by 2003.
Buzz chief commercial officer Tony Camacho said: “We have
been courted by a number of UK airports but ultimately we felt that Bournemouth
has the strongest offering.”
