BA slashes costs by millions

BRITISH Airways is looking for an extra £450 million in
savings by 2005 under a ‘son of Future Size and Shape’ plan.

Further cost-cutting is expected by harnessing technology to
sell tickets more efficiently and help staff work more effectively.

Targets of 100% etickets and 80% of transactions available
on-line by 2004 have also been set.

The new goal comes after a £650 million savings target set
under Future Size and Shape and a 13,000 reduction in staff within a year.
