Brits cool on ‘unsupportive’ France

POLITICAL
tensions are hitting accommodation sales in France, an on-line letting company
has claimed.

Holidaylets.net
managing director Ross Hugo said the company has seen a sharp drop in searches
for properties in France, yet more people are asking about rival destinations
such as Italy and Spain.

“This
is supported by anecdotal evidence from our sales team who have been told by
property owners in France that less Britons have booked holidays to France this
year. Our understanding is that this drop is due to the political tensions that
have developed between France and the UK,” Hugo commented.

As a result prime properties are available for
last-minute bookings, a situation that has not occurred in previous years.
