ABTA president John Harding has claimed a low-cost
carrier needs to go bust to hammer home the dangers of DIY packaging to the
public.
Addressing ABTA’s London regional meeting
last week, he said: “Let’s hope we see a no-frills carrier collapse. We need that
disaster to highlight the dangers of putting together your own package.”
Harding outlined his 10-point plan on which he based
his election campaign at the meeting, which focused on ensuring the association
is properly funded to counter fraud and reduce the cost of bonding.
