Lastminute help for the family market

A NEW website for families has been launched with the backing
of online giant  Lastminute.com and
Islington-based agency Real Holidays.

Real Holidays – winner of  the Travel Weekly/Egremont makeover competition last year – owns a
stake

in the site, www.takethefamily.com, which features
product sourced from Lastminute’s own website including 55,000 hotels. The
agency will also act as a backup for customers who want the agency to
tailor-make their package.

The site is direct, but managing director Andy Cook
said it plans to develop a trade-focused proposition to increase bookings.

“The trade isn’t an integral part of the business at
the moment, but we would like to be travel agent friendly in the next six to 12
months.”

Lastminute and Real Holidays will pay the site a
commission on every booking they process.
