NEW Lastminute.com UK managing director Mark Jones has hinted there could be further job cuts at the online retailer.
Jones has been promoted from his position of MD for the business-to-business and business-to-trade divisions, including Holidayandmore.com.
The promotion follows the departure of group operations MD Doug Sawyer and group commercial director Andrew Windsor (Travel Weekly January 7).
Jones, the company’s first UK MD, said the further “simplification of a complex structure” was inevitable. He would not reveal any figures for future potential job cuts.
All UK category directors – flights, UK hotels, UK finance, business-to-business, trade, corporate, marketing and call centres – will report into Jones, who reports into chief operating officer Ian McCaig.
