Equator-Net sets up travel service facility

ON-LINEbusiness travel agent Equator-Net has developed a programme for companies with Internet sites that want to offer a travel-booking facility through their pages.

Called Equator Own Label, it allows on-line businesses to offer users a link into Equator-Net’s travel pages to book flights, hotels or car rental.

Equator-Net managing director Bill Kirkwood said the pages can be branded in the client’s corporate colours and logos, so they will look like an integral part of the client’s Web pages.

However, fulfilment and ticketing will be handled by Equator-Net.

Kirkwood said financial site Interactive Investor International, which has 400,000 users, and recruitment site Jobworld, with 100,000 users, are already signed up to use Own Label.

“Between them, that gives us half-a-million users, so it makes us a serious travel supplier,” he said. “I expect to sign up 20-30 other companies over the next 12 months, so that number is likely to increase threefold.”

Kirkwood said Own Label adds considerable value to a company’s business.
