Travel Weekly launches stress survey

TravelWeekly.co.uk

TIRED and irritable? Lost your sense of humour? Worried
about hitting sales targets?

If any of those sound familiar you could be suffering the symptoms
of stress – and Travel Weekly wants to hear from you.

Today we’re launching the biggest-ever industry survey on
stress to find out how happy you are at work, and what issues cause
you the biggest headache.

Our online survey has been developed with Professor Cary Cooper
– the world’s leading authority on stress. He will
analyse the results, giving a picture of life on the frontline in
2005.

Travel Weekly was prompted into action after we discovered ABTA
bosses have been attending stress management training to help them
shake off their work worries.

Ten Newman Street staff are attending three half-day sessions
– the brainchild of chief executive Ian Reynolds –
after the association endured a year blighted by a high-profile
fraud case, complaints from members and criticism of its Orlando
Convention.

Cooper, professor of organisational psychology and health at
Lancaster University, backed Reynolds’ call to action,
claiming high staff turnover in the industry – around 30% a
year – showed companies are doing little to address the
concerns of workers.
