SCOTTISH and Newcastle has increased profits at its Center Parcs holiday villages by 8.6% to £29.2m in the six months to the end of October. Turnover increased 7.6% to £161m.
A spokesman for the brewery and leisure group said the results were helped by a £36m investment programme at three villages in Holland, Belgium and Germany.
“There were problems in all three countries but they have moved into profit this year following refurbishments,” he said.
Occupancy in the three countries rose an average 5% to 88% in the six months, prices were up 9% and on-site spend rose 4%.
UK occupancy averaged 91%, while in France it was 89%. Prices were up 8% in both countries.
The spokesman said another £40m is being invested in the next six months to improve accommodation at villages in Kempervennen in Holland and Vossemeren in Belgium.
