Systems specialist Anite Group has acquired Italy’s leading tour operator software company OpenTur.
Anite will initially pay £2.1m for OpenTur, with up to £1.1m extra depending on profits to December 31 2001. Head of marketing Howard Frost said OpenTur is Anite’s equivalent in Italy, but with a bigger share of the market.
He added that the acquisition is part of Anite’s strategy to expand its operations into mainland Europe by acquiring travel technology and e-commerce businesses.
