Getting to Pennsylvania

So now we know where Pennsylvania is and what each of its regions has to offer. But what about getting there? This module looks at the best way of travelling to PA from the UK, and at how to get around once you’re there. We’ll cover airlines, train timetables, airport transfers and even cab rides.

The flight time from the UK to the North-eastern US is around 8 hours. As well as the main gateway to PA, Philadelphia International Airport, there are many other airports within the state including Harrisburg and Pittsburgh. Pennsylvania is also easy to reach from other states such as DC, Maryland, New Jersey and New York.

And if you do choose an out-of-state airport, remember that making your way to Pennsylvania is anything but a chore – the Amtrak routes that run from New York, for instance, pass through some of the most charming and exhilirating scenery in the US.

Good luck!
