Solo’s Holidays looking for marketing boss

SOLO’S Holidays is seeking a marketing manager to challenge negative perceptions of single holidaymakers.

The operator sells escorted holidays to single people.

Yet managing director Gill Harvey said: “The first thing many people associate with a singles holiday is an anorak. They think it will be boring, although the opposite is true.

“The people who travel with us tend to be outgoing and open-minded. It’s not
romance driven. Our guests enjoy going out on excursions together, having dinner and generally just having a laugh.”

The job requires someone with experience of dealing face to face with clients.

Harvey said: “We’re seeking someone who can be their own PR person and develop relationships with local newspapers, magazines and clubs and get people together and talk through what we offer.”

She said there had been sufficient interest from shop managers and events organisers following an advert in Travel Weekly (March 3) to hold an open day for applicants later this month.

The successful applicant will cover the southeast of England.

If their appointment proves a success, Harvey plans to extend the role to other regions of the country.
