SPAIN and Portugal specialist Mundi Color has upped its trade focus to introduce the product to new agents who have never heard of the operator under new boss Ray Steward.
Four Mundi Color sales staff are now out on the road, at least 40 agents will be invited to take part in one of several forthcoming educationals, and the operator’s 2007 brochure will be completely redesigned.
New manager Steward, who joined in the spring from Caravela Tours, admitted the operator had become “lethargic” in recent years.
He said: “For the past four to five years, Mundi Color has not been a force in the market.
“A lot of agents who know our programme have been supporting us, but there are a lot of new agents coming in who have never heard of us. We knew we had fantastic product, but we weren’t telling people.”
Steward’s appointment frees up well-known sales manager Tony Maniscalco to spend more time out on the road, alongside three area sales managers.
Steward said: “They have been going out asking agents to tell us what they want from us, what we are doing wrong, and how we can improve it.”
Changes already been implemented include a switch from solely using schedule aircraft to include low-cost carriers and extending the office opening hours to all day Saturday.
The operator’s 2007 brochure is due out in September – four to five months earlier normal.
