Millennium & Copthorne Hotels is to manage a new 149 bedroom hotel at Sheffield United football club’s ground.
The club will build the eight-storey hotel, the first Copthorne Hotel in the Yorkshire region, that is due to be completed by autumn 2008.
The multi-million pound development will also include a restaurant, executive suites and a gym.
Millennium & Copthorne Hotels currently manage the Copthorne Hotel and Millennium Hotel at Chelsea Village, the Millennium Hotel at Reading’s Madejski Stadium and the Copthorne Hotel near Manchester United’s Old Trafford stadium.
Sheffield United’s chief executive Jason Rockett said: “Millennium & Copthorne Hotels is a world renowned brand whose commitment to Sheffield, and in particular Sheffield United, is a significant step in the continued regeneration of the city.”
