Popular England cricket personality Phil Tufnell has joined his former sporting rival Shane Warne to support Tourism Australia during the 3 Mobile Ashes Series.
Tufnell was signed up to promote Australia to travelling English cricket fans and those thinking about a visit in the future, Tourism Australia said.
The campaign starts with video messages between Aussie spinner Warne and Tufnell, which takes the form of verbal sparing over the forth-coming series. Tourism Australia has also featured the videos on the a myspace page: www.myspace.com/tuffersinOz.
Tufnell said: “Part of the attraction of the Ashes Series is the banter that exists between these two nations and I’m glad to be part of it. Working with Shane, I hope we encourage as many England fans as possible to take the chance to see as much of the country as they can while they are here for the cricket.”
Meanwhilen Tourism Australia has appointed two new team members. Susi Thompson has recently joined as retail and trade councellor French/English while Tanya Mullan will start as trainer for UK, Ireland and Nordic.
