Co-op unveils price comparison website – 22 Nov 2006

United Co-op Travel Group has invested £500,000 to create what it believes to be the first online holiday website that directly compares dynamically packaged trips with traditional package breaks.

The redeveloped cooptravelshop.co.uk website matches traditional package deals and dynamically packaged holidays to customer requirements.

All dynamically-packaged holidays offered on cooptravelshop.co.uk are also covered by United Co-op’s ATOL bond.

United Co-op eCommerce Marketing Manager Paul Drew said: “The new site ensures that consumers will always get the best deal suited to their needs – whether that’s a dynamically-packaged low-cost flight, accommodation in a specific resort and transfers or a traditional package break.

“The site integrates package holidays and dynamic packaging together in one search for flights, ski and holidays. We are also adding the ability to book hotels, city breaks and UK breaks to site.

“It will be – as far as we are aware – the only website that integrates the search results from both dynamic packages and traditional packages, making the site unique to the customer as they get the best price available on what and who they want to book with.”
