Longer breaks hit by dynamic packaging – 29 Nov 2006

Holidaymakers do not have time to take 14 night breaks because short dynamically packaged city breaks are eating into their annual holiday allowances.


Speaking at an e-tid breakfast briefing for ABTA Travel Convention delegates, First Choice mainstream holidays managing director Dermot Blastland said: “When it comes to the peak period they do not have 14 nights. They have done city breaks to Prague and it’s eating into their holiday time.”


He added that holidaymakers were booking later because there were so many choices. “People don’t need to book as early because there are more options,” he said.


First Choice is selling more holidays than in the past but its total capacity is lower, added Blastland. “We are selling more package holidays,” he said.
