Accommodation-only firm Transhotels plans to expand its hotels inventory to 50,000 properties next year as the group pushes into Asia and the Middle East.
The Spanish firm currently has more than 33,000 hotels after adding 654 new properties around the world. It has just opened an office in Israel and plans more in in India, South Africa and Australia.
UK head of sales Artemis Theodoron said: “The next big push we are looking for is into Asia and the Middle East. There is a demand for those destinations and they are the areas we are a little light in.”
Transhotel has deals with Hays Travel, Freedom Travel and the Travel Trust Association. She said it also works with a number of Worldchoice and Advantage agents but does not have a deal with Triton.
