Kwik Travel homeworker bags £150,000 booking – 7 Dec 2006

Kwik Travel homeworker Andrea Lee has completed a £150,000 bookingAn agency homeworker has secured a £150,000 booking to send 289 rock ‘n’ rollers to Tenerife next year.

Andrea Lee, who works for Kwik Travel, will make around £8,000 commission from the booking which she began planning in March this year.

Kwik Travel has chartered an entire aircraft for the Affordable Rock ‘n’ Roll from Birmingham Airport with Freedom Flights in April 2007.

Lee, who has worked for Kwik Travel for five years, picked up the original enquiry through the firm’s website.

“It originally started off for 50 people but when I rang the customer back it was for a lot more. Some people might shy away from it but I thought: ‘No, I’ll give it a try’,” she said.

After dynamically packaging the flights, accommodation and transfers Lee devised a list of excursions for the group which consists of five bands, three disc jockeys, a compere and fans.

They will travel in 1950s and 1960s style outfits and stay at the Fanabe Costa Sur Hotel in Tenerife.

“It took a lot of organisation – the group wanted dancing lessons every morning and various activities,” said Lee.

“It hasn’t been as difficult as I thought, but it will get harder as it gets nearer the time of travel and people start thinking more about their holiday and any special requests.

“They are already planning next year’s event, as well as a Christmas break.”

Lee who is currently pregnant, added: “I will certainly be able to afford to take maternity leave.”
