Rail Europe is offering travel agents 10% commission on bookings for its 2007 French Motorail service.
The service allows travellers to take the train to the south of France while their cars travel with them, which could also cut down on carbon emissions, according to Rail Europe.
Starting from £340 for a car and up to six passengers, the service runs from May to September. Rail Europe has already offered the service direct to consumers but has stepped up its links with the trade since it launched a website for UK travel agents earlier this year. It carries around 15,000 passengers a season on the service.
Based on four people travelling in a medium-sized petrol car, carbon emissions for the journey from Calais to Nice are 246 kg, compared to 19kg when travelling by train, according to French figures.
The lowest fair available is £290 for the service from Brive to Calais. There is a £50 supplement for four-by-four vehicles using the service.
