Kirker Holidays to offer agent training – 18 Jan 2007

Kirker Holidays has vowed to offer the trade comprehensive training to help sales of its new India, Sri Lanka and the Maldives programme.

Sales director Ted Wake has vowed to give agents all the support they need to sell an unfamiliar destination through the trade.

The operator plans to run a number of fam trips to the region in 2007 alongside detailed in-store training to make agents more familiar with one of the world’s emerging tourism markets.

“Kirker has been planning its India programme for two years, making it vital to its success,” he said.

Wake said the programme will become “a significant part of the operator’s programme within three years”.

Kirker sells around 23,000 holidays a year.

The stand-alone brochure offers 34 cities in India with accommodation ranging from heritage hotels, tented camps, houseboats and beach retreats. The operator also offers the Palace on Wheels train which starts in Delhi and stops in Agra. Prices start from £2,990 per person for the 10-day journey.

Brochure prices start from £1,490 per person for a 10-night introductory tour of Kerala, including the Tea Museum of Munnar and the Thekkady Wildlife Sanctuary.
