Worldspan launches cruise product – 22 Jan 2007

Travel technology provider Worldspan has launched a new cruise online booking tool.

The new site, www.worldspancruise.com, will give travel agents real-time access to cruise and tour operator product via the viewdata booking system, allowing agents to check current availability and bookings as well as receiving instant confirmations.

It will be available for free to agents already signed up to Worldspan.

Worldspan vice president and general manager – EMEAA Graham Nichols said:  “We are helping our agency partners create new revenue streams by innovating and investing in the cruise marketing.”

The launch has come as figures reveal 1.25 million Brits took a cruise last year, a 17% increase on the previous year, while 1.5 million UK customers are predicted to take a cruise in 2008.

  • Travel Weekly has recently launched TW Cruise, a new brand dedicated to serving the cruise market.
