Flyglobespan adds route to South Africa – 8 Feb 2007

Manchester airport will get a second scheduled service to South Africa from November when Flyglobespan begins flights to Johannesburg.

The Scotland-based carrier introduced a Manchester-Cape Town service in November 2006.

Flyglobespan chairman Tom Dalrymple said: “The Cape Town route is popular in both directions.”

The Johannesburg service will operate on Sundays and Thursdays from November 4, with departures to Cape Town on Fridays and Tuesdays.

In April, the carrier will also expand its schedule from Stansted airport, adding weekend flights to Larnaca. The service will begin on Saturdays and Sundays from April 1 and increase to six days a week from May 28.

Flyglobespan previously unveiled plans to begin long-haul services from Stansted, flying daily to Toronto from May.
