Kwik Travel homeworker scoops £30,000 booking – 22 Feb 2007

Kwik Travel homeworker Julie Bowden won £30,000 of business booking a high-society holidayKwik Travel homeworker Julie Bowden has scoooped a £30,000 booking for a group including a prominent Lord and his friends.

Bowden had to accommodate requests from members of the 15-strong party of prominent business men and women for different lengths of stay and room types for the weekend in Courcheval, France, in March.

Some of the group were also travelling on their own private jets which meant there were a series of varying itineraries to deal with.

Bowden managed to get the booking after one of her existing customers recommended her to the personal assistant of the high-profile Lord, who has not been named.

Bowden, who has worked for Kwik Travel for seven years and previously worked for a tour operator, said: “I originally got the phone call to say they needed a hotel to accommodate for 25 rooms.

“Apparently the personal assistant rang round about half a dozen agencies but couldn’t come up with anything. Then I was recommended and managed to find them something suitable.”

Bowden, from Brighton, explained she had to deal with a number of assistants throughout and had to be flexible when making the booking as there were a number of different and complicated requests.

“All of them had my number if they needed anything. I always try to give a good service – if someone spends £200 on holiday they may come back and book three weeks in the Maldives – you never know. I have around 70% repeat business as well,” she added.
