Galileo has agreed a distribution deal with British Airways which guarantees full content for the trade.
Under the three-year deal, which starts on April 10, agents would have to opt in to pay an as yet undecided booking fee on all BA booking bookings.
The global distribution system’s previous deal saw agents pay a 50p per sector charge.
Agents that use the Galileo system but don’t opt in could face BA’s surcharges and the removal of the lowest class of fares.
BA said negotiations with the other three GDS – Sabre, Worldspan and Amadeus – continue.
