Tighter security has eased business travellers’ safety fears – 11 April 2007

The increased security at airports has helped to reassure business travellers of their safety while flying, according to a poll.

Following the September 11 terrorist attacks many organisations cut back their business travel fearing for the safety of their staff.

However, almost six years on from September 11, 2001 a massive 96% of business travellers now report they feel ‘safe’ or ‘mostly safe’ when travelling.

More than two-thirds of business travellers feel as safe as they did 10 years ago, according to the survey by Barclaycard Business.

Barclaycard Business director of commercial cards Denise Leleux said: “It’s clear the steps taken in recent years such as increased security checks at airports have helped to make business travellers feel more secure.”
