Gold Medal opens up apprenticeship opportunities

Eight new apprenticeship places are being offered by dnata Travel Group UK flagship brand Gold Medal.

The one-year apprenticeship scheme will see successful candidates gain a Level 3 travel consultant qualification while working for the B2B tour operator.

Gold Medal is working with A S Training to provide the apprenticeship opportunities, where those enrolled can earn while they learn and gain hands-on experience.

Apprentices will collaborate and receive guidance to create tailor-made holidays, answer calls in a professional and timely manner, deliver outstanding customer service, take calls from travel agents and meet sales targets.

Gold Medal managing director Simon Applebaum said: “We are delighted to launch our apprenticeship programme this year.

“As we continue to grow, this programme expands our ability to recruit quickly and, with our full-time training and development team able to support these early careers, we’re confident we can deliver a fantastic experience for the apprentices working with us.

“We are partnering with A S Training to deliver this and we are thrilled to be working with Michelle; a Gold Medal alumni who we are all proud to have seen become a leader in this space.”

A S Training managing director Michelle Van Sprang added: “A S Training is delighted to support Gold Medal in the recruitment and training of their inaugural Travel Consultant cohort.

“This exciting collaboration offers a valuable opportunity for aspiring professionals looking to build a career in the dynamic travel industry.

“Through this partnership, participants will gain industry-specific knowledge, hands-on training, and professional development, equipping them with the skills and expertise needed to thrive in the sector.

“This initiative underscores both A S Training’s commitment to developing future talent, and Gold Medal’s dedication to developing new professionals within the travel industry.”
