Three Chilean tour operators have joined forces to boost UK visitor numbers to the South American country.
Fifty thousand UK tourists visit Chile every year. However, Mallin Colorado, Patagonia Connection and Terra Luna Lodge are attempting to boost numbers to the country by educating the trade on what the country has to offer.
The three operators believe the lack of visa requirements and the three-hour time difference, which cuts the chances of jet lag, makes it the perfect year-round destination for UK visitors.
Yesterday an agent educational day was hosted in London by the three operators and Chilean investment body ProChile London. Agents were given the chance to learn about the country and its culture while sampling Chilean seafood and wine.
ProChile London director Luis Montero said the country is becoming “increasingly popular”.
ProChile will work with the three tour operators and the trade before setting growth targets.
