Hilton announces 55 new hotels, including 15 in UK – 5 June 2007

Hilton Hotels Corporation has announced plans to open 55 new hotels in five years, having signed three new global development alliances.

The new hotels will comprise 25 in Russia, 15 in the Caribbean and Central America, and 15 in the UK, including the first appearance of the Hampton by Hilton brand.

Other brands covered in the management agreements with London & Regional Properties, Shiva Hotels, and Caribbean Property Group include Conrad, Hilton, Doubletree by Hilton, and Hilton Garden Inn.

HHC president and chief operating officer Matthew Hart said: “These critical alliances… underscore our strategy to sign larger deals to develop a significant number of hotels in key growth markets around the world.

“We are committed to achieving our stated goal of adding 1,000 hotels outside of North America throughout the next 10 years.”

The announcement follows hot on the heels of the recent partnership deals Hilton struck in India and China, where it plans to open 100 new hotels in the next five to seven years.
