Happiness is a holiday to Canada on Emirates booked through Saga while holiday hell is an Air France flight to Bulgaria booked on lastminute.com, according to a new survey.
The study of holiday preferences and booking habits by consultancy The Listening Company found the top five travel agents respondents would recommend were Saga, Dawson & Sanderson, Trailfinders, Monarch and Travelcare.
The top five carriers UK travellers would recommend were Emirates, P & O, Virgin, Flybe and Eurostar, while the top five holiday destinations were Canada, Australia, Switzerland, Austria and South Africa.
Meanwhile 60 per cent of the 8,000 British adults aged 18-65 polled in the survey said they preferred to book over the telephone or at a travel agency, compared to 40 per cent who chose book online.
