Celebrity opens bookings for new cruise ship – 19 June 2007

Celebrity Cruises will mark the summer solstice on Thursday by opening bookings for its new ship which shares the same name.

Bookings for Celebrity Solstice will open on Thursday exclusively for members of Celebrity’s ‘Captain’s Club’ loyalty programme before opening to all other customers from July.

Celebrity Solstice is the line’s first new ship since 2002 and is the first in a class of four 2,850 passenger ships.

Following several weeks of inaugural activities, the ship will make its maiden voyage on December 14, 2008 with a seven-night Eastern Caribbean cruise from Fort Lauderdale.

Celebrity’s president Dan Hanrahan said: “As a special gesture of appreciation to our loyal Captain’s Club members, we’re pleased to offer them the first opportunity to set sail in the ship’s inaugural season.”
