Hotels4u.com reports record sales after web revamp – 29 June 2007

Online accommodation supplier hotels4u.com has re-launched its website with an improved look and feel, better search functionality, and a three-click booking path.

Other features on the site, which went live on 21 June, include climate charts, interactive maps, and larger accommodation images, while a ‘best in category’ price matrix shows the best deals by star rating and board basis.

Users can also choose whether they want their results returned as a simple list or as thumbnails with images so they don’t have to click through to each individual hotel for more information.

Hotels4u.com sales and marketing director John Harding said the decision to enhance the site followed a bumper start to the month for the company, with monthly sales set to break the £10 million for the first time in June.

Harding said: “Our aim in developing the site was to aid agents as much as possible in their search for exactly the right type of accommodation at the right price, matched with the facility to check live availability and book immediately.

“The site also has a much sleeker and sexier feel.”

In addition to the holiday search facility and agent log in the homepage features a list of special offers, a click through destinations map, and a ‘star buy’ section flagging up certain Beach, City, All Inclusive and Luxury products.

Future plans include an amenity search function to enable users to search for facilities such as kids clubs, spas and private beaches, as well as add ons such as insurance and hire cars.
