Ryanair has confirmed it will comply with Office of Fair Trading demands to include all taxes, fees and charges in prices, but said it may not do so until next year.
The OFT declined to comment on possible enforcement action, but a Ryanair spokeswoman said: “We’re in constant discussion with the OFT.”
She said: “We certainly are going to comply. But we have to redesign the booking engine and it’s a huge job. It could take a good while – possibly until early next year.”
The OFT insisted its deadline for airlines to comply with rules on all-inclusive pricing passed in May, despite a spokesman confirming last week that a final deadline would expire this week.
An OFT spokeswoman said: “Some companies may need more time.” However, she confirmed an airline would need good reasons for failing to comply by now.
ABTA agreed to enforce its code of conduct against members failing to include non-optional charges in prices in February, in return for the OFT taking action against airlines and other non-ABTA members.
