Airport chaos ‘won’t stop travellers from flying’

Despite airport chaos and flight cancellations this year travellers are still keen to fly, according to a survey by Trip Advisor.

In its travel survey of 1,800 passengers, the community site found that 90% of British respondents plan to fly this autumn while only 12% of Brits say they will fly less in the next 12 months because of airline problems.

Trip Advisor members complained most about the time they have to wait on aircraft before taking off or disembarking – 47% of British travellers said delays are completely out of hand, and people shouldn’t have to wait on a plane for more than an hour.

More than half of respondents (52%) believe the greatest incentive to travel later in the year is because there are fewer tourists and crowds.

Popular destinations are city breaks and beach destinations.
