Elite Travel Group agents are to install plasma screens in shops for the first time.
The consortium has struck a deal with CSI Media for screens that can show agents’ own selected offers in their branches. Offers will not be centrally supplied by head office.
As part of the package, agents will get a website linked with the screens and will be able to print out offers showing on the plasma screens. Videos can also be shown.
Elite Travel Group marketing director Peter Buckell said the screens could show video footage from tourist boards as well as offers, which could inspire customers to book more holidays.
He said: “A lot of members have asked for plasma screens. They can have them either inside their shops or in the window.
“This deal offers plasma screens, a website, and print-outs. This is the best system we could find because it offers all three options.”
The consortium is to charge a one-off fee of £700 to members, which will include training. The consortium will pay the set-up costs.
So far, 20 of the consortium’s 90 members have requested plasma screens, which will be demonstrated at the group’s conference being held between October 12 and 14 in Jerez, Spain.
