Carnival announces agent prize draw to celebrate ship launch

Carnival Cruise Line is to celebrate the launch of its new superliner Carnival Splendor by giving travel agents the opportunity to win hundreds of pounds’ worth of high street vouchers.

The 3000-passenger ship will join Carnival’s fleet next summer and for the first time will begin with six ex-UK sailings, out of Dover around The Baltic, before it heads to the Mediterranean. The programme is already sailing well, according to sales and marketing director Lynn Narraway, but some availability remains.

As part of Splendor’s launch Carnival is giving away £600 worth of high street vouchers to agents who book passengers on board the ship by October 31.

Narraway said: “As well as discounts that enable agents to get in some early business you’ll be automatically entered into our prize draw. The first prize is £300 worth of vouchers, second prize is £200 and third prize is £100.”

She added: “Having an ex-UK ship in summer 2008 means that Carnival’s range of cruise destinations and durations can now appeal to a much wider audience. We now offer 59 different three to 12-night itineraries in the Caribbean, Mexico, Canada, Alaska, Hawaii – and now the Mediterranean and Northern Europe too.”

The 68-page Cruise Holidays brochure features 21 ships for the UK market. including Carnival Freedom, which will be sailing out of Rome in the Mediterranean for a second year.

Brochure prices are offered on a cruise and stay or cruise-only basis in the fare guide insert given to agents. Prices for the new Northern Europe 12-night sailings on Splendor start from £1049 per person.

All bookings made with the deposit paid by October 31 will receive £100 discount discount per state room booked on fly/cruises and a £50 saving per stateroom booked as cruise only.
