A Carnival Cruise Lines director’s blog has become so popular that the operator is putting on a special bloggers’ cruise next year.
Carnival Freedom senior cruise director John Heald started his blog about life at sea in March this year and has had 700,000 visitors so far. In January there will be a seven-night cruise around the Caribbean for his fan base and fellow bloggers.
Special events include a bloggers’ cocktail party, trivia contests and more.
Heald’s blog was originally part of a micro-site created for the launch of the Carnival Freedom in March.
Heald, from Southend-on-Sea, has been named ‘Seagoing Employee of the Year’ by Seatrade for his now infamous blog .
The week-long bloggers’ cruise will operate a round-trip from Miami and will visit three of Heald’s favourite ports – Cozumel, Grand Cayman and Ocho Rios. Prices lead in at £919 per person including flights from the UK.
