Dertour is offering UK travel agents the chance to book cabins on the world’s first cruise to be accompanied by a full scale orchestra.
The Vienna Philharmonic Orchestra will be on board the German cruise line AIDAdiva which will sail from Palma around the Mediterranean next summer.
During the ten day cruise, music lovers can experience gala concerts featuring the entire orchestra, attend rehearsals, and listen to daily on-board concerts.
Gala concerts will be played at Florence and Barcelona ports of call.
In addition to Florence, Barcelona and Malta the cruise will also call at Cannes, Civitavecchia for Rome and Catania and Taormina, where the well known Austrian soprano Eva Lind will present a recital.
Dertour managing director Mike Adams said: “This is the first time a complete symphony orchestra has joined a cruise and it is an extraordinary opportunity for music enthusiasts to get close to these world famous artists, watch them as they rehearse, and then hear them play.”
Prices for the cruise, including flights, transfers full board and all concerts, both on shore and aboard, start at £2,599 per person based on double occupancy.
