Tourism Australia and Qantas are running an online and press campaign to promote Australia in the key booking month of January.
They will give away one free flight each day between January 7 and Australia Day (January 26) on a dedicated Yahoo! microsite. The site will also offer sample itineraries, photographs, destination information and a question and answer section.
Each print ad will feature a lead-in price of £669 for Qantas flights. They also highlight the airline’s new premium economy service.
In Ireland, a TV ad featuring the slogan ‘So, where the bloody hell are you?’ will be aired throughout January. Qantas will support this with a separate print campaign.
This latest activity is part of a £1.1m spend by Tourism Australia and Qantas on joint advertising campaigns.
Tourism Australia marketing manager Tim Jones said: “We are looking to build on the success of last year’s campaign to drive British holidaymakers from a preference towards Australia to a serious intention to visit in the next 12 months.”
