New customer loyalty scheme for AITO

AITO Specialist travel agents will be introducing a customer loyalty scheme later this year to reward customers.

Chairman Barry Moxley said the association’s panel has been working on how best to implement a loyalty scheme  – which will reward customers booking AITO operators through AITO agents –  but a decision is still yet to be made on what is the best form for the awards to take.

He said: “We don’t want it to be in the form of discounting as the minute you go down that route you’re on a slippery slope. We’re looking for something that adds value for the client as it needs to be meaningful enough for the customer as to be worthwhile.”

Moxley said full details of the scheme will be announced at this summer’s overseas conference which will be held at the Aphrodite Hills resort in Cyprus from June 12 to 15.

Meanwhile the association’s agent arm is to consider hiring a rep following a suggestion at last weekend’s (Jan19/20) domestic conference.

Moxley said the benefits would be the increased education of member agents as to what AITO operators are doing and the deals and product they offer. However, he added it would be dependent on budget limitations.
