Royal Caribbean creates dedicated sales teams

Royal Caribbean Cruise Line is creating a dedicated sales team for each of its major brands as it continues to see 30% year-on-year growth.

Up until now the sales team has been dual branded but from April 1 Royal Caribbean International will have its own team while Celebrity Cruise and Azamara Cruises will also have a separate team.

The new dedicated sales team of eight people will initially be focused on working with specialist cruise agencies, while five national account managers will continue to deal with larger agencies across the country.

As a result of the change in business, the sales team will grow by 30% through the recruitment of eight additional people across all teams.

Royal Caribbean Cruise Line UK and Ireland managing director Jo Rzymowska said: “Over the last two years it has been no secret that Royal Caribbean Cruise Line has been aggressively growing its market presence and sales performance. In early 2006 we doubled our sales team in the UK and Ireland and have made ongoing improvements to how we support our travel partners. We kick-off 2008 with a hugely positive development, increasing and redefining our teams so that they are dedicated to a brand or specific channel.”

Rzymowska also confirmed the company will be recruiting a sales director to oversee the whole sales team.
